Who we are
Get to know Mind
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem.
What do we do?
Nationally, we give advice and support to anyone who needs it. On the high street, our charity shops raise vital funds and give away mental health information. Our local Mind network delivers mental health services to anyone who needs them.
Our Workplace Wellbeing Services team provides support for employers, such as mental health awareness training and bench-marking and best practice advice through our Workplace Wellbeing Index.
Why do we do it?
It has become increasingly apparent that mental health in the workplace is a very important but under informed topic; not everyone experiencing a mental health problem at work has access to the support they require and managers can lack the confidence to provide the support needed for their staff.
We can help your organisation ensure your workplace has a positive working environment, with managers equipped to support staff should they be experiencing a mental health problem.
How can the Workplace Wellbeing Services team support you?
Our eLearning courses
1. Mental health awareness at work
2. Managing mental health at work - Manager's eLearning
3. Positive mental health in the workplace
What do we offer?
Our eLearning courses offers support to anyone wanting to increase their understanding of mental health and wellbeing at work.
- Mental health awareness at work - for all employees
- Managing mental health at work - for people managers
- Positive mental health in the workplace - also for people managers and developed in collaboration with the Bank Workers charity
Mental health awareness at work
Our Mental health awareness at work course provides employees at any level in your organisation with an introduction to mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. We explore the difference between good and poor mental health, common mental health problems, the stigma surrounding mental health, and share tips on how to look after your own mental health and support colleagues. This is a useful introduction to mental health and is suitable for any employee.
Mental health awareness at work is a single 45-minute module of interactive learning. The module can be hosted on your own organisation’s Learning Management System (LMS) or we can provide access for you.
The module is completed in one sitting and contains visual and audible elements throughout, so headphones will be required.
Topics covered include:
- What is mental health, what is good mental health and what are mental health problems
- Common mental health problems - depression, anxiety and stress (causes, signs and symptoms)
- Mental health and work, workplace triggers and tips for building resilience
- Tips for taking care of mental health at work, five ways to wellbeing and wellness action plans
- Support that you can offer and tips for having conversations about mental health

Managing mental health at work
Our Managing mental health at work course complements our Mental health awareness at work module. Both courses include best practice guidance and tips from our mental health and workplace wellbeing resources.
This course is for people managers and emphasises the importance of looking after your mental health as well as that of your employees. Each module, of which there are four, encourages greater awareness of mental health in the workplace and builds confidence in supporting staff at different stages. Each section promotes and equips learners to be proactive, effective and responsible when managing people.
The course lasts approximately 1.5 hours in total with each module lasting between 15 to 25 minutes. All four modules can be hosted on your LMS or we can provide access for you through our managed LMS. We recommend modules be completed sequentially and learning from each module is implemented before moving on to the next.
- Mental health, the business case and your role as a manager
- Promoting and boosting staff wellbeing and taking stock
- Conversations about mental health and supporting employees
- Positive and proactive performance management
- Signposts to information and support.

Technical tips and FAQs
How to use Mind's eLearning
How can we use your eLearning?
There are two ways to access Mind’s eLearning. If your organisation has a learning management system (LMS), then you can purchase a licence (terms and conditions apply) and host any of our courses on your own platform for your staff to use. If you do not have a LMS, then you can arrange access to any of the courses via Mind’s managed LMS.
What is a learning management system (LMS)?
A learning management system is a technical platform that supports educational content such as eLearning courses. You can administer, track and report on any courses hosted on the platform and completed by learners. Your IT/Technical or learning and development team should be able to support you should you choose to host any of our courses on your own LMS.
9 in 10 clients are satisfied with Mind's workplace services and would recommend Mind to others.
Mind's client satisfaction survey, 2019.
If we choose to host, what technical requirements do we need?

Workplace Wellbeing Index
At Mind, we want to support a million people to stay well and have good mental health at work by 2021. That’s why we run our Workplace Wellbeing Index; a benchmark of best policy and practice.
It will help you find out where you are doing well and where you could improve your approach to mental health in the workplace.
You'll take part in staff and employer surveys to help us assess where the gaps lie between the organisation’s approach to workplace wellbeing and staff perceptions. We provide you with an assessment report with analysis of the survey results, highlighting what you are doing well and recommendations of where you can improve.
"The Index allowed us to take a view right through the business of what was working and what wasn't...… It gave us that independent and third party view of what we were doing"
Brian Van Campenhout, Lendlease
