One Mind in Wales
Network strategy for Wales
2023/26
March 2023 saw the culmination of 18-months’ worth of collaboration and co-production as the local Mind network, Mind and Mind Cymru finalised the inaugural Network Strategy for Wales (2023/26).
It sets out how local Minds, Mind and Mind Cymru work together to reach more people, building a healthier Wales. It also aims to develop a sustainable future for the local Mind network in Wales, a future where they can continue to deliver the life-changing work featured in this report.
The strategy sets out four key priority themes for us to make progress against, including:
A commitment to lived experience
2. Influencing our mental health system in Wales
3. Development of a core/universal service offer
4. Becoming a more inclusive and effective federation
In its development, the strategy considers the unique strategic context and external environment in which we work in Wales. Our underpinning implementation plan supports how we will pivot our efforts to take stock of our devolved work in Wales.
Our network strategy has been developed against the backdrop of difficult and challenging times, including the cost-of-living crisis, NHS waiting times, NHS and Social Care Workforce challenges, political unrest and divisions within our communities. Despite, and in some ways because of this, we believe there is a need for the work of local Minds now more than ever.
