Looking after yourself
Being active doesn’t always feel good for everyone. And it isn’t possible for everyone to do the same things.
For people with mental health problems, daily life can be challenging and exhausting. They may be unable to undertake any physical activity. And could be more likely to develop an exercise addition or over-exercise.
Mental health problems are physically and emotionally draining. Being active when we’re not feeling good can be daunting and even impossible. How active we are will change depending on how our mental health is.
Rather than physical activity as a way of improving fitness and physique, it's important to focus on how it makes us feel.
