The coronavirus outbreak has caused huge changes to the way we work, and left many of us without our usual support systems. Therefore, it’s more important than ever before to reflect on what keeps us well and identify how we can look after our wellbeing during this time.
With more of us working from home, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed, especially if you are juggling work with childcare or managing a remote team or looking after a family member who is ill. To help us all adapt to our new working environment, we created a Wellness Action Plan (WAP) specifically for working remotely. The WAP provides a personalised, practical tool we can all use to support our wellbeing whether we have a mental health problem or not. It helps us identify what keeps us well and what impacts our mental health.
During this difficult time, it might be helpful if you are able to share this with the people you live with and loved ones as well as your line manager, so they’re aware of your triggers and what support you need to stay well whilst working from home. For line managers the Wellness Action Plan will help you to know how best to support to your employees mental health.
