Making our LGBTQ+ colleagues feel seen and included

With Pride 2023 nearly here, we wanted to talk about how you can show your support for your LGBTQ+ employees and colleagues.
Depression, anxiety, suicidal feelings, and other signs of poor mental wellbeing are not uncommon in the LGBTQ+ community.
This doesn’t mean that being LGBTQ+ causes poor mental wellbeing. However, it might be that the experiences people face as a result of their sexuality or gender - such as discrimination, stigma or perhaps rejection - have played a role. And we know that not being able to be yourself at work adds to the stress felt by LGBTQ+ people in their daily lives.
As an employer, one of the best things you can do is create a culture that is inclusive and welcoming, and where people of all identities are free to be themselves.
The Mental Health at Work team have created a toolkit which includes some resources that can support you in making a positive change - and making your workplace inclusive for all.
