Pride month
Helping your LGBTQIA+ colleagues feel included in the workplace
Even with all the progress of recent years, those of us who identify as LGBTQIA+ are still more likely to face discrimination, abuse and stigma. The effect this can have on our mental health is enormous and LGBTQIA+ people are more likely to experience a mental health problem because of it.
Mind are here all year round for anyone who’s LGBTQIA+. But Pride is a special time to celebrate, to protest, and to reflect. And that includes workplaces.
We know that not being able to be yourself at work adds to the stress felt by LGBTQIA+ people in their daily lives.
That’s why as an employer, creating a culture that is welcoming and inclusive is one the best things you can do.
The Mental Health at Work team have created a toolkit which includes some resources that can support you in making your workplace inclusive for all.
